Review of Escape from New York (1981) by Andreas O — 26 Sep 2010
Classic action, with Kurt Russell as one of the all time great antiheroes. Original and influential, Escape from New York has a lot of scenes and visuals that you find reappearing in movies to this day.
Feels a little flat at times, though, and some of the ideas aren't all that well developed, but the film is still one of John Carpenter's best.
