Review of Erin Brockovich (2000) by Marcus W — 29 May 2009
Soderbergh is massively overrated as a director - in this film alone there is nothing remotely interesting about the direction. Julia Roberts plays Julia Roberts only with a bit more swearing. I was hoping the plot would be a little bit more than "single mum balances motherhood with bringing a corporation to its knees" but it wasn't - sure it's a true story but so was Dragon and look what they did with that.
Anyway, it's watchable if only for Eckhart and Finney.
