Review of Erin Brockovich (2000) by Scottie T — 06 Jun 2015
Erin Brockovich! Erin Brockovich is a true story about a single mother with three kids, divorced twice and only had 17 dollars in her bank account before she started working for a small law firm in her town and along the way she comes across a case that deals with hundreds of people getting sick from toxic waste.
This movie was really good, and Julia Roberts definatly deserved to win best actress at the 2001 Academy Awards, and really put her all into this role and that was great.
The camera work was nothing special, the soundtrack/score was nothing special. The writing was good though, and also the true story was great, which made for a good screenplay because it's a true underdog story.
So this movie was basically standing on the performances and the writing, and thats not a bad thing. It's just thas all it had going for it and it deserved the best actress oscar because julia roberts was excellent, and so was the supporting actor Albert Finney who also got his 5th and latest oscar nomination who definatly deserved this nomination! So this movie was just really good overall and just somthing people should watch. It's a great story, turned into a great movie with great performances. It also has a small amount of comedy that worked throughout with it's serious subject matter. So if you want to see a good movie, check out Erin Brockovich, its worth it.
