As far as Soderbergh goes, this hit lacks the style and substance of his other work. Regardless, Erin Brockovich is an engaging, well-made film. It had been a while since I'd seen Julia Roberts do something enjoyable, so her charismatic, honest, and immersive performance really took this movie home for me.

Her and the delightful Aaron Eckhart, portraying a bandana-headed handlebar mustached dude that may be one of the most relatable characters I've had the pleasure of watching. The script is nicely done, and thanks to Soderbergh, the focus does not wander too far from the case into the protoganist's personal strife.

It's a very grounded story with a sexy, uproarious leading woman making a mockery of any and all white collared individuals with status. It's one that makes you cheer.
