Review of Eraserhead (1977) by Taylor B — 01 Apr 2011
This is easily the weirdest film I have ever seen. In fact it is so weird that most of the time you have no idea what is going on. I was only able to somewhat understand this mess after after I had read some peoples thoughts on it. Apparently this movie is about male paranoia yet the main charter is so strange, distant, and unrelatable that it isn't really clear if he is going mad or just acting like he usually does. Also the movie constantly feels like its dragging. The film is 88 minutes and feels like 2 and a half hours long.
That said, the movie is very atmospheric. The audio and visuals are great, and they help create some genuinely creepy and disturbing moments that are sure to stick around with you for a long time.
