Review of Eraserhead (1977) by Bernard S — 01 Nov 2010
Finally watched David Lynch's debut feature - Eraserhead for the first time. Made over a period of five years and funded by friends and family.
This is the weirdest film I have ever seen. Very very dark Disturbing film with no real plot to it and not alot of dialogue. Not that I am bothered by lack of plot or dialogue [2001 is one of my favourite films]. My problem with Eraserhead is the lack of meaning revealed to the viewer. I do like to draw my own conclusions and theories but just felt a bit left in the cold.
However I Do think Eraserhead will get better with more viewings and eventually become a better rating as I will know what to expect and maybe be able to make some valuable Interpretation of what happened.
David Lynch is one weird guy!
