Review of Equus (1977) by Sergio M — 10 Feb 2010

I really enjoyed this. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to watch it or not, given that 'equus' is one of my favourite plays of all time. but it's lumet and burton... and schaffer himself wrote the screenplay, so I had to give it a go.

and I wasn't disappointed. it still feels pretty theatrical, but they did a good job at setting all the conversations in different places. and having real horses made the scenes incredibly powerful!
