Review of Equilibrium (2002) by Jeff B — 03 Apr 2011
I don't know why I haven't seen this until now, but I finally got around to it. I really didn't know much about it, just that it's always compared to The Matrix. It's a very good action film, though not as much action as I expected.
The fight sequences are cool, just not as lengthy as I was expecting, though that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's a pretty simple premise too, so we don't need tons of explaining like The Matrix (or Inception).
I think the Taye Diggs and Emily Watson characters could have been developed more, they weren't in it that much and seemed to be pretty vital characters, or at least were important to the plot. I liked it, it was cool.
