Review of Equilibrium (2002) by Stefan G — 29 Jun 2012
Equilibrium (4 stars) Reminiscent of Logan's Run and THX 1138. As science fiction, I guess I can't hold it against Wimmer (writer/director) that a couple of plot elements were so unbelievable it took me out of the movie and into a conversation about how it didn't make sense, etc.
After an impressive but improbable opening sequence, the story takes too long to set up. However, once it gets rolling, it's a winner. The acting is more than adequate though at times Bale sounds like hes choking on his teeth.
Overall, worth your time.
