Review of Entrapment (1999) by Blind P — 07 Dec 2009
You might remember that ads for this film when it came out. You know the ones. They feature the premise of Zeta-Jones having to contort to practice avoiding security lasers in such a way that her ass arches up and the camera greedily devours it all. They sure got a lot of mileage out of that 25 second sequence, and having finally watched the film I'll tell you it is likely its finest moment. In fact, after it ended I'd have to say that wondering if it was a "stunt ass" (body double) before I got to the part created the most dramatic tension. I do believe it was actually her ass. (now you don't have to watch it...I'm looking at you, megan!).
Otherwise we have a romantic thief/doublecross adventure that features so many improbable situational resolutions that you'd swear Connery was playing Bond again.
Even if one were to cast aside all doubts and just attempt to have dumb fun with it, it is a stretch to say it is engaging.
I do appreciate the filming on location and the stunt work at some stages, but that is not enough to recommend watching.
As for Zeta-Jones' ass, I'm sure you can find a screen capture on the internet and more from over the years if so inclined.
