Review of Entrapment (1999) by Nathan C — 01 Oct 2010
With two fiery leads, gorgeous global scenery, and an old-school (adventurous) approach to the genre, this heist flick is quite a steal! It's also punctuated by wit, thrills, cleverness, and aww a little romance (which is kinda creepy as Connery was in his late 60's while Zeta-Jones was nearing 30 at the time this was shot, but not as bad as Woody Allen falling for 20-year-old women in practically every one of his newer movies).
The depiction of security is somewhat inaccurate and the whole scenario is quite unlikely, but then again who cares? The pace is uneven, however. Due to other great performances, a good plot, and its high-tech cape/James Bond-like feel, this is a sign that Hollywood should return back to old-fashioned form.
