Review of Entourage (2015) by Matthew R — 31 Jan 2016
Here's a very simple review:
If you like the show, you'll LOVE the movie.
Likewise:
If you didn't watch the show, you probably won't like this movie. But here's the good news: this movie wasn't made for you. Ironically, the 'Critics Consensus' for why the movie receives 'rotten' status is precisely why fans of the show will love the big screen version of their show. "The movie isn't good because it feels like a cameo-studded extended episode of the show." Yeah, sign me up!
While the critics believe that the smart play would have been to take something that fans loved and completely change its formula because it happens to be viewable on a bigger screen during its initial release, those who possess common sense and logic prefer to see more of exactly what they loved for 8 seasons spanning a decade.
Here's the undeniable truth: The story opens less than a week after the series finale. All of the characters from the series' run are back and none have changed. The same writers, actors, producers, director, flow, and style of humor are back. Therefore, ANYONE who watched the entire show's run and enjoyed themselves will love this movie.
