Review of Enter the Dragon (1973) by Xcv V — 10 Feb 2011
Probably the biggest Martial Arts movie ever made at the time, But many of us will probably hail it as the turning point when Martial Art Cinema began to dominate the West and show us the Action Genre in a whole new meaning.
I'm a big Bruce Lee fan, The guy was a living Superman that could do 50 chin up's with one arm, Kick Chuck Norris's arse & throw rice in the air and catch it with chopsticks for christsake plus so many more physical feats too insane to count.
Well the film is your pretty basic Martial Art movie for the time, Corny dialogue, Dojo training & sets, Everyone seems to know some form of fighting style in which Bruce is always Master Rank at it, But that's what we pay to see, Whether you laugh you're arse off or not when Lee is screaming it's no doubt seeing him destroy everything in his path is just so satisfying.
The Finale is Memorable as hell, The Nunchucks, The fight scenes (see if you can spot Jackie Chan :-), and a fight in a hall of mirrors with a guy wearing a glove made from a cereal box and knife blades.... UNFORGETABLE.
Final Verdict: It's so sad to say that Bruce Lee died the same year as this movie, At the peak of his Career, At the top of his Game, Bruce couldn't have gone out any better. Watch it NOW.
