Review of Enemy at the Gates (2001) by Skyler I — 07 Jun 2011
Enemy At The Gates is an exceptionally good war movie, intent not on glorifying the violence of battle, but at telling about the people behind the violence and how it affects them. Each actor is perfectly cast and each gives a remarkable performance, though why they chose British and American actors to portray Soviets and Germans is beyond me.
The only problem I had was one of the main characters death seemed very forced, seeming to only be in the script to bring the love triangle subplot to a clean end. The film is a bit difficult to explain to anyone who hasn't seen it, but I strongly suggest you watch it.
