Review of End of Watch (2012) by Matt A — 25 Jun 2013
First off the shooting style of this film is wrong, the handheld cameras are annoying, this could've worked as your standard shot film and I would've loved it much more. But with that only niggle, this was one of the best cop dramas I've seen in a long time.
The 2 leads Michael Pena and Jake Gyllenhaal have excellent chemistry with eachother which makes the final act a lot more emotional, damn you!!! The first 30-40 mins are a little dull though, but it picks up after a visit to one of the worst parents, evidently high who decide to keep the kids quiet using some very cruel ways.
... The action scenes are realistic and not done in that Hollywood way would of cheapened the film, just get ready for some brutal scenes and a finale that will make you cry!
