Review of End of Watch (2012) by Kelly C — 20 Jul 2013
End of Watch is law enforcement's answer to Ladder 49. Even knowing how it would end, we ate up every second of it. The conversations were real and hilarious connecting you whole-heartedly with the two leads.
The villains earned every bit of your spite, showing "gangsters" for the poser punks they are while not making caricatures of them. The supporting characters supported without necessarily having a big plot tie-in.
The law enforcement situations might not have been entirely typical (they only show the nerve-wracking calls), but I loved the fact that they didn't focus on ONE scenario. Kind of made it feel like 20 movies in one.
I was never bored watching and I get sick to death of watching action movies with the same plot. Really does justice to the dangers those in law enforcement make. Overall, the film makers lived up to what they were aiming for - making it all seem REAL.
Outstanding acting from entire cast. Still reminding myself those "gangsters" were just paid actors.
