Gyllenhaal and Pena get this police brotherhood story perfect. The first quarter of the movie requires some patience, but after that you are taken in by the believability and camera work which makes you feel like your on patrol with them.
An unexpected ending just adds to this work by Ayer. Would highly recommend watching.
