Review of End of Watch (2012) by Afm185 — 21 Jun 2020
I really really like this movie. It just feels so real. The characters are some of the most developed I’ve ever seen I’m serious it’s almost like the dialogue wasn’t even scripted like they were actually recording policemen on the job.
It’s incredible. I didn’t love every minute of it, specifically the start felt a bit slow but certainly not bad at all. I find that the plot is really great. If I’m being totally honest it feels more or less like they’re doing their jobs and some events occur in their own lives and the job as well, and that’s more or less the story of the movie, but somehow they did it so well that I was totally engaged in what was gonna happen next at a certain point.
I truly cared about these people. The acting in this movie is phenomenal, the music is really good, the action scenes are few and far between but good for what they are, the movie doesn’t look amazing because a lot of it is recorded on like in world cameras so it’s a bit odd sometimes but still fitting I suppose.
Though honestly I feel like they didn’t really need to take that route with it? It’s kind of just an unnecessary detail and it makes it a bit awkward when multiple characters are carrying a camera for no good reason.
All that aside it’s pretty great. It teaches some really great lessons, it makes you feel and laugh and smile and feel actual tension when **** goes down. I don’t really know how rewatchable it is, but I’d recommend it to basically anyone.
