Review of End of the Spear (2005) by Victoria G — 06 Jul 2007
Sorry guys. this ones a no go. its a part of this new trend to put out larger budget religious films. its not that studios are respecting christianity more, its that theyre being opportunistic and exploiting the christian dynamic in america.
dont get me wrong this story isnt necessarily all bad. but....only christians would find this appealing. like I said, its an exploitation of the fact that for most part the christian dynamic has abysmal taste in art.
the cold hard fact is that the truth of these events is still incredibly dumbed down and made to fit into the popular modern view of what we think religious causation should be. we make these guys out to be martyrs.
and in some ways they are. but in some ways they arent. and seeing only that side of the issue is what makes this bad.
