Review of End of the Spear (2005) by Byron S — 21 May 2008
A great movie, and based on a true story, no less. "End of the Spear" details the story of five missionary families who are serving in the Amazon. After making contact, the men try to reach an especially dangerous tribe, but the tribe murders them.
Instead of lashing out and leaving, though, the remaining families choose to live among the tribe. This movie is a perfect example of what a Christian film should be. The central themes were those of forgiveness and redemption, and there was no over abuse of the Gospel, a prevalent problem in other Christian films.
The cinematography was wonderful, the music set the mood well, and the acting was marvelous. This movie has become one of my favorite films. A must-watch for anyone who likes good movies.
