Review of Enchanted (2007) by Jeffrey G — 13 Aug 2012
First, there was "The Princess Bride". Then, "Stardust" followed. Now we have "Enchanted". Wonderful, all--and I probably like them in that order. "Enchanted" is sweet, and lovely and honest--and benefits hugely from Amy Adams.
When I saw "Match Point" I wanted desperately to have an affair with Scarlet Johannson; yes, she's that hot in that movie. Now I feel that I'd marry Amy Adams in a second. She's every bit the Fairy Tale Princess in this film, and if you don't fall in love with her than you have no soul.
But then again, the people who hold no magic in their hearts wonâ??t bother going to see this film. It's tremendously successful because it knows all the Fairy Tale Rules and manages to embrace and yet subvert them; you can kind of say it's like "Scream" for the "Snow White" crowd.
A great time at the movies.
