Review of Empire of the Sun (1987) by Tyler S — 26 May 2014
Spielberg creates amazing set pieces and puts the viewer in a position of awe due to the realism of chaos. There are instances that you just have your eyes wide open and can't believe what's going on.
Christian Bale plays a young child lost in China among chaos in WW2. He is a young Britt who gets lost from his family and ends up in a WW2 camp. It's fun to watch him grow as he befriends a schemester in John Malkovich.
It's just a good story of survival and will, and truly what it takes to be a man and doing what you have to.
