Review of Elvis (2022) by Valbal — 24 Jun 2022
Very well written and directed film making it extremely entertaining to watch due to its well fleshed out timeless themes and the way it was edited which is rare when it comes to biopics. Usually these films are pretty straight in their narrative but Baz Luhrmann's ELVIS is a wonderfully stylish and sophisticated work of art. Austin Butler IS Elvis. An oscar worthy performance (sadly oscars not relevant anymore).
The only nitpick I have about the film is briefly played soundtrack songs performed by modern era artists. I will never be able to understand the use of modern pop/hip-hop sound in a film depicting historical events.
