Review of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (1988) by Michael W — 27 Jan 2010
A joyfull, magnificently campy comedy built around the host character of an even campier anthology show. As far as supereasy, even chldish comedies go, this one is at the very top of the cathegory. Rarely is a film so honestly, stupidly and completely entertaining.
The energy here is overwhelming! I wonder how come Elvira isn't even more popular? She should become the biggest camp icon ever. And she's far greater than any goofy gay icon I've ever seen.
Honestly, I became an instant fan.
