Review of Elle (2016) by Gregory M — 23 Feb 2017
I may never really understand what happened in "Elle" and what the ending was supposed to be. It doesn't really matter. I know one thing for sure, Isabelle Huppert was the heart and soul of this movie and I simply couldn't take my eyes off her.
It was interesting for me to try and catch up with the events of the movie, and while I made no perfect sense of them all, I really enjoyed watching this movie. It's not what I was expecting to watch, it was really disturbing, but for some weird reason the way Huppert played it, was fascinating.
I may not know how to feel about this, but I do know that European cinema, and especially French cinema always know how to take the game to the next level. I love this kind of storytelling! Europeans always do such brave jobs, it's astonishingly beautiful!
