Review of Elle (2016) by Jenna G — 16 Apr 2017
So kind of blown away by Elle. Mostly just because how surprisingly light and darkly witty this movie is, given what happens in the first few minutes of the film. It is odd, but it works really well. Huppert is just extraordinary, which shouldn't be shocking, and her Michèle is an unbelievable character.
Well written and beautifully acted. For me, she was extremely hard to like, yet I was in awe of her toughness and found myself rooting for her throughout. Watched it almost a week ago, but I still find myself thinking about it often.
