Review of Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007) by Will D — 17 May 2009

A disappointing follow-up. The characters never seem quite as real or dramatic - poor Cate just comes across as a desperate housewife and never the superhero queen. It seemed to Hollywood - good vs evil.

.. things in history have never been made so black and white, and I would have loved to have seen a much sinister and realistic telling of one of the darkest but celebrated periods of history. Always good seeing us knocking seven shades of something out of Europe, but even that was hard going.
