Review of Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007) by Sylvia Q — 27 Aug 2009
This movie got me stayed up at 8am in the morning to watch it. It may appear to be dull but there are good reasons to watch the film:
1. For the history (is it not more interesting than just reading the text book? And I mean no Malaysian text book here since we read nothing but the never-ending Malacca history!!);.
2. For the beautiful costume; and.
3. For the excellent performance of Cate Blanchett, depicting a successful queen with an incredibly poignant human touch!
I would definitely like to watch the prequel.
