Review of Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007) by Keith R — 28 Feb 2015
I wasn't totally disappointed by this film, however, I was expecting A LOT more. Visually, the movie was exquisite! The wide shots, costumes, sets, halls, special effects, all intertwined to make a visual feast for the ages.
Acting-wise, other than Cate Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush, there wasn't much to hold on to, and even their performances were hampered down by some of the most uninteresting dialogue ever. As a sequel, this film follows in the path of many other sequels, that just fail to meet the greatness of the original.
The funny thing with this film, it failed to intrigue the audience as the original Elizabeth did, but it was much more fun to watch.
