Review of Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007) by Melanie D — 10 Apr 2012
A must see for any history lover - especially a lover of English history and the beloved Queen Elizabeth. The entire cast did a superb job - especially Cate Blanchett and who wouldn't love Clive Owen as the 'pirate'? The costumes are breathtaking and the sets were simply amazing.
The only bad thing was that I wanted to see more. Elizabeth is my favorite monarch and was pleased to see her shown more as I imagined her to be. A strong, courageous and gentle queen but a little bit fragile.
It was nice to see that she was presented to be almost untouchable, but still human. Anyway, I'm rambling so, to sum it up: if you love history, you'll love this movie.
