Review of Elite Squad (2007) by Daniel B — 29 May 2011

What makes this a great movie is that it portrays what life really is like in Brazil. A pattern you'll notice in the "rotten" reviews by critics is that they are all sheltered Americans who cannot grasp the gruesome reality of this movie.

Being Brazilian myself, I know quite well that the "neo-facism" and "brutality" brought into view by this gripping movie and despised by liberal critics, is anything but fake. If you're willing to expose yourself to the truth, go ahead and watch it.

If you'd rather sit at home and criticize that of which you have no knowledge of, then don't bother.
