Review of Elf (2003) by Cheryl L — 29 Dec 2014
I find myself subconsciously watching Elf every Christmas. The humour is at all times good-natured and occasionally hilarious. Will Ferrell gives a marvellous performance as a grown man hopelessly preoccupied by Christmas; Elf's most successful moments revolve around placing Ferrell in everyday situations and environments.
Although the sentimental, generic climax goes someway to popping the film's bubble, Elf will leave a sweet festive taste due to a host a comic episodes.
