Review of Elevator to the Gallows (1958) by Joe D — 30 Dec 2008
This is film noir to the max! Miles Davis's score definitely adds that quality as well, and I loved it. As far at the film is concerned, overall it's a good film and worth watching atleast once.
However, the 2nd and 3rd act didn't need to show so much of the "thief couple" as much as they could have shown Moreau. I think a lot more tension building moments could hae been placed in the film with Moreau's lover in the elevatior, etc.
The climax left me wanting a lot more as well.
