Saw this in the context of a seminar on film noir and it's an interesting excursion on what happens when noir meets nouvelle vague. it wasn't my greatest find in this seminar (that one goes to "le corbeau" hands down), but "ascenseur.
.." does a marvellous job in elegantly tieing together all those plot lines.
