Review of Elevator to the Gallows (1958) by Ryan M — 28 Jun 2010
Really good debut from Louis Malle, the more films I watch from him the higher he climbs in my list of favourite directors. Jeanne Moreau tries to get her lover to murder her rich executive husband, things don't exactly go to plan (do they ever?).
The photography is fantastic and Miles Davis' soundtrack makes this french salute to American noir flicks well worth seeing.
