Review of Elektra (2005) by Matthew M — 04 Mar 2012
Films such as Batman Begins, Spiderman and such mean that Superhero movies these days have to entail some class; Elektra doesn't I'm afraid.
This spin off from the entertaining action flick Daredevil lacks everything that it's parent film had. Daredevil had stylish action sequences, pretty good acting and a nice, neat plot line. Elektra on the other hand has poorly choreographed scenes, average acting and a laughable plot with soulless card board cut out characters.
The plot follows a Elektra (played by Jennifer Garner and, who has been brought back to life after being killed by Bullseye in Daredevil) who is given an assignment to murder Mark (Goran Visnjic) and Abi Miller (Kirten Prout)(father and daughter). But Elektra soon becomes attached to them both and decides to protect them from the evil that is after them.
Two highlights to the film are a few engaging battle sequences and an incredibly amazing villain named Tattoo (Chris Ackerman) who is able to reincarnate tattoo's into lviing things.
Other than this though Elektra is a fairly dull and drab affair which is maybe worth a rental at absolute best!
