Review of Electroma (2006) by Paul M — 22 Sep 2008
Is there anything the guys from Daft Punk can't do? There is more class, well-honed craft and passion in this film than in almost anything else released that year. From the precise, beautiful cinematography to the perfectly considered soundtrack, to those AWESOME outfits, Electroma is a film that says so much without having a single word of dialogue. Don't believe me? You only have to watch the scene in the gas station bathroom, where the two robots remove their human disguises to the sombre strains of Sebastian Tellier's "Universe" I don't think I've seen a sadder scene in any hollywood schmaltz-fest or Oscar Heavyweight.
All I can say, is I hope they make another film.
