Review of Electroma (2006) by Jeremy C — 16 Dec 2009
Daft Punk's Electroma is an unforgettable film. Not because it's amazing, but it's a unique and sometimes stunning piece of art. The messages are rather simple and there are scenes and shots that seem to go on for far too long (in an obvious attempt to emulate 2001:A Space Odyssey), but the cinematography, eerie sound effects and music entrance the viewer.
The result is an often mesmerizing but occasionally frustrating experience. A very impressive film, even more so given that it was written and directed by techno musicians.
