Review of Electroma (2006) by Tanguy B — 31 Dec 2010
The plot can be summarized in a couple sentences (but I wont spoil it). What is good about this movie is they do it differently than all other movies. There is not one word of dialog. There are no faces.
Any and all emotion is shown through action. And even though Daft Punk are musicians, the movie only has music for maybe a fourth of it, and none of it is by them. What is bad about the movie is how they stretch a couple sentence plot into a full hour.
More than half of the film is driving through the desert, walking through the desert, panning the desert, and practically all of it in silence. Besides the helmets, my favorite part of the movie was when I was watching the credits, and saw that the swingset was played by a swingset.
