Very entertaining documentary chronicling the history of schlocky independent film company The Cannon Film Group, run by Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus. I grew up watching these terrible films (i.e. "Missing in Action" "Breakin'" "Death Wish 2-5" "King Solomon's Mines" "Lifeforce" "Invaders from Mars" "Revenge of the Ninja" and so on and so forth), but I'm honestly not sure how interesting this film would be for people who aren't familiar or fans of these Chuck Norris quality of films.

At least for me, I was very entertained by this documentary and loved how many actors and filmmakers they were able to interview for this film, telling how Golan-Globus favored pre-selling films based on stars and posters before they were ever made, rather than the actual quality of the film they'd end up making, but balancing that with their genuine love of being their own film studios and a love of movies.

They clearly loved making movies, but they also clearly did not care all that much about the quality of what they were making. I think it was Bo Derek who sums it up nicely towards the end of the film, that Mirimax got right what Canon did wrong, because they actually cared about the quality of the films they were producing.

But the funniest part of the film comes at the very end (SPOILER ALERT) when the film state that Golan-Globus were asked to be interviewed for this film but declined, and then chose to make their own documentary about the history of Cannon Film Group, were able to release their film faster than this one.
