I?m admittedly a sucker for behind-the-scenes docs that focus on less-than-artful filmmaking, and this is one of the better ones. The story of these fringe filmmakers and their business of exploitative entertainment is hilarious and brilliant.

But what takes it "Over the Top" is the way it uses its form as a way to exemplify its subject, as the tales of their exploits have seemed to have grown over the years. A fascinating look at a renegade film company.
