Review of El Topo (1970) by Dom O — 12 Jan 2008
Surreal , imaginative , beatuifal.
And epic in almost everyway, Jodorowsky is by far one of the greatest film surrealists , I watched this from a friends recomodation and he was not wrong. it absolutey mesmerised me from start to finish the photography blew me away the amazing contrasts between the cloudy yet ocean blue mexican sky with the harshness of the destert below. it became a nightmarishly beatuifal dream. this togeather with holy mountin become the greatest excerise in transfering dream like qualities on to film. for this Jodorowsky should be appricated by all , a western like no other.
