Review of El Topo (1970) by Lorin G — 20 Feb 2008
Two words: fucked and up. I have a thing for strange revisionist westerns but this is too strange. When people speculate that an author or film maker "must have been high" while writing I usually disagree.
I'm not so sure here. It's obviously intended to be experimental and over the top, so for what it is it's got some interesting ideas and imagery. I can't reccomend it to just anybody though.
