Review of El Topo (1970) by Jeremy P — 02 Mar 2008
Beautifully stunning, bloodily violent , bizarre, surrealist, virtually silent, religiously symbolic western. At first I didnt know whether to laugh at the sheer absurdity unfolding before me on the screen, but then all of a sudden I was completely drawn into a complete understanding of just what the fuck was going on, and I was hooked.
One of the most bizarre films I have ever seen (and from me, thats something), yet one of the most brilliant.
