Review of El Topo (1970) by Bryan T — 03 Apr 2009
A master gunfighter shows off his skill and then goes to a desert to take on the four greatest gunmen in the land.
I won't go any further into what happens plot wise as the movie can be divided into three parts where each part is defined by his side kick (at first a young boy, then a woman and then a midget woman.) It's surreal with a lot of beautiful looking shots and a lot of memorable scenes. Then there is some weird editing that took me out of the film every once in a while.
If you like cinema that's different, check it out. If not, don't bother.
