Review of El Topo (1970) by Kotaro M — 05 May 2009
I had the chance to watch this avant-garde, surrealistic Western film approximately 38 years after it was made and I was shocked at how superior this film is compared to many films today. The minimal dialogues and the style of presentation using many abstract symbols force us to make our interpretation of the story.
Movies these days do not offer this type of free thinking for the viewers. A good movie for movie nights.
