Review of El Topo (1970) by Reece L — 09 Jul 2015
It's hard to know where to begin when describing something as bizarre as El Topo, a film that includes castrated colonels, priests ridden like horses, lions, whip fights, rabbit farms, and cultists in drag.
Largely an excellent display of violent imagination, Jodorowsky's work is so visually striking and rife with poignant moments that it can be forgiven its meandering narrative that occasionally feels tedious.
