Review of El Topo (1970) by Diane G — 29 Mar 2009
Bizarre, surreal, cutting edge for its time...bizarre, surreal, cutting edge for current time. This is a classic in the surreal world of film. El Topo includes effective and engrossing art direction and presents a world where eccentric behavior and interaction is the norm.
They say it's a Western on LSD, but really it is so much more by being nothing in particular...a unique moviegoing experience, but not recommended for those who prefer processed, manufactured Blockbuster friendly films.
