Review of El Dorado (1966) by Jim M — 23 May 2009
A wealthy rancher is hiring gunmen to make a move on his neighbors and the only people standing between a range war are a half crippled gun fighter, a sheriff drunk off his ass, a grizzled Indian fighter and a knife fighter who can't shot straight.
Entertaining John Wayne western with some strong supporting roles from Robert Mitchum, James Caan, Christopher George and Ed Asner. Director Howard Hawkes tells a simple story but populates it with some of the most interesting characters you've met on screen. Modern Hollywood could learn a thing or two here.
