Review of Eighth Grade (2018) by Harris1078 — 29 Nov 2018
It's rare for a film to capture the uncertainty and fragility of the 'tween' years as accurately as 8th Grade. Elsie Fisher's hesitating performance is excellent, and Burnham is an incredibly self-assured first time director.
Lots of awkward, cringe inducing moments, but it never dips into melodrama and wraps up in a satisfying way (unlike adolescence).
